Using Your Team Ultimate in Team Sonic Racing
Team Ultimate is the greatest ability you have at your disposal during races, and in order to use it you’ll first need to charge the meter that appears directly under your car.
This will charge as you take various actions during a race, and once full your Team Ultimate is ready.
Now simply hit triangle on PS4 (Y on Xbox and X on Switch) to activate the Ultimate, which will put all three of your team members in a yellow invincible state that drastically increases their speed and lets you travel over any terrain.
The Ultimate only last for about 15 seconds, however, you can increase the time it last by just a little.
Every enemy that you hit while in Ultimate mode will another sliver of time on for you, so you definitely want to aim for them.
How to Charge the Ultimate Meter
There are a few different ways of filling the Team Ultimate meter all of them, of course, based around teamwork. Here’s everything that fills it, and keep in mind this applies to everyone on your team.
- Perform a Skimboost, which means drive by your teammate when they’ve spun out to give them a boost.
- Driving in the yellow trail behind your teammate and using Slingshot.
- Sending and receiving Item Box Transfers.
