Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter Eggs: All Secrets You Have to See for Yourself

The Braithwaites’ Secret

This is certainly one of the more macabre secrets Red Dead Redemption 2 holds. To the west of Braithwaite Manor and south of the gazebo where you first talk to Penelope, players can find an outhouse in the woods. It will be locked, but if players find it before Chapter 6, they can encounter its occupant alive and uncover a secret held by the Braithwaite family. Be careful though; the occupant will be dead from Epilogue 1 onward.

Catherine Braithwaite

From Chapter 4 onward, players can return to the burned-out manor ruins and find the remains of Catherine Braithwaite. If they loot her body, they will receive an emerald brooch. That’s not all that the ruins hold though. In the room – or what’s left of it – a few steps to the east of the body, a lock box with a gold bar inside it can be found.

A secret letter concerning the Braithwaites and the Grays can also be found in a chest on the main inlet to the west of Sisika Island, at the base of one of the trees there.

The Grays’ Secret

At the back of the Gray Manor on the table next to the corpse of Mr. Gray is a letter. It will only appear after players have completed the “A Short Walk in Pretty Town” mission, and reveals several interesting secrets about what is supposedly one of the most prestigious families in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Micah’s Camp

Players can return to Micah’s camp that he set up between the “Blessed Are the Meek?” and “An American Pastoral Scene” missions. Found northeast of Strawberry, the camp contains his personal belongings, a wanted poster of Dutch, and newspaper clippings regarding Micah’s past and the failed Blackwater heist that preceded the main story of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Meteor House

In a cabin to the west of Brandywine drop, players can find a meteorite that can be picked up and taken with them. With it in their inventory, they will receive a 10 percent decrease to the effects from exposure to hot environments.

It should be noted that while this is certainly one of the more useful secrets to uncover in Red Dead Redemption 2, players should be ready for a pretty grisly scene when you enter the cabin.

Meteor Shower

If players time it right, they can see the meteor shower that sent the meteor down into the cabin in the first place. If players are close to the Meteor House around 2:00 a.m., they can head to the field directly to the west of the house. From there, they can witness a meteor shower in the sky which will last for several (in-game) hours.

Spotting a UFO Easter Egg

For believers in the supernatural, Rockstar has included a little easter egg of a UFO. Essentially, there was a strange cult of NPCs that apparently freed themselves of their mortal shackles to be abducted and taken away by their mighty leader. Return to their shack at 2:00 am, and you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of a UFO trying to abduct you, too. We’ve got a complete UFO sightseeing guide for you, should you need more guidance to find this.

Whiskey Tree

To the west of Dewberry Creek on top of the hill that overlooks Flat Iron Lake, players will find a large tree with whiskey bottles hanging from its branches. At its base is a ginseng elixir, and if the player shoots the hanging bottles, they’ll find one contains a gold nugget. To save ammo and time, they can trigger their Eagle Vision to see which bottle emits gold particles.

Witches’ Cauldron

Found to the north of the East Grizzlies, this shack contains a number of items and tonics to collect. It also contains cooking pot full of a strange, bubbling liquid that the player can consume if they’re brave enough.

Look On My Works

Out in the wilderness, you may encounter a horrific scene featuring a dismembered body and a line scribbled onto a nearby cliff: Look On My Works. Check out our video here if you want to see it for yourself.

The Alchemist’s House

Some secrets prefer to stay hidden, but this one can be hard to miss. To the northeast of Tumbleweed, an alchemist lives in seclusion in a small house.

The house will be engulfed in an explosion should players get to close, but after the dust settles they can search the ruins to find a lock box. In it, they’ll find high velocity cartridges and a pamphlet on how to produce explosive slugs.

The Strange Statues Secret

To the north of the East Grizzlies region, players will find a cave hidden within a wall of white rock. Within lies a number of strange statues, and should players interact with the middle pedestal, then Arthur will make a note of them in his journal. From here, players can track down a painting of these statues at Window Rock, which will provide a hint to what the statues do and what they’re hiding.

This can be one of the more difficult secrets in Red Dead Redemption 2 to fully uncover, so if you get stuck, a full walkthrough on how to unlock the strange statues’ secrets can be found here.

Big Foot/Giant Sasquatch Secret

While not as lively as the variety seen in Red Dead Redemption’s DLC, a Big Foot can be found in Red Dead Redemption 2. Along the western face of Mount Shann just off of the trail that runs between the “S” and “T” of the West Elizabeth map label, players can find the resting place of what was either an incredibly large man, or something altogether different.

Again Spoiler Warning!

Micah’s Gun Easter Egg

While other secrets on this list are entirely optional, this secret is crucial for anyone who wants to obtain every weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2. After Epilogue 2, players can return to the top of Mount Hagen to discover the corpse of Micah. If they loot him, they’ll find and be able to use his revolver.

That does it for our list of all secrets and easter eggs in Red Dead Redemption 2 that we have found so far. As we uncover more, we’ll be sure to update this list.
