Prey: Mooncrash Multiplayer Update Lets You Play Hide-And-Seek With Your Friends

Bethesda and Arkane Studios have announced that a new update will be coming to Prey: Mooncrash next week that allows you to play a deadly game of mimic hide-and-seek with up to five other players.

Typhon Hunter is the name of the game and has one player controlling Morgan Yu, while up to five other people get to control mimics, shapeshifting into whatever objects they see fit: coffee mugs, chairs, books, tables, you name it.

Just like hide-and-seek, the mimics get a specific amount of time to go and hide and/or strategize with their team of deadly creatures. Once the prep time is finished and the timer starts, the fight is on.

By having only a pistol and a wrench, whoever is playing as Morgan must eliminate the mimics before the time runs out. As mimics, you have only one life, but Morgan will respawn if ends up getting killed, giving the mimics some extra time on the clock and a few seconds to maybe rethink their strategy.

Transtar VR will also be coming as part of this free update and will give players access to a single-player escape room puzzle that was developed specifically for VR headsets. For more info on the big update, go check out Bethesda’s blog post on their official site.

Typhon Hunter is a free update for those who have previously purchased Mooncrash and will be available for download on Dec 11 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One players. You can check out the announcement trailer down below, and while you’re at it, feel free to check out our Prey review from last year.
