Pokemon & Shield: How to Get Bonsly

Sword & Shield realizes the Pokemon experience on the biggest scale we have seen in the franchises’ twenty-year history, which sees players traverse a large sandbox environment to catch Pokemon for the first time. Here’s how to get Bonsly in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

How to Get Bonsly in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Bonsly is a rock type Pokemon that can be found in a number of different locations across Galar. The most important factor when attempting to catch one, however, is that you do so while there is a sandstorm occurring.

The below locations are your best bet for catching a Bonsly, but always try to do so in a sandstorm.

  • Bridge Field
  • Stony Wilderness
  • Motostoke Outskirts
  • Motostoke Riverbank
  • Hammerlocke Hills

Evolving Bonsly

Bonsly will evolve to Sudowoodo on its own once it has learned the Mimic ability. This will occur naturally at level 16. You will, therefore, need to raise your Bonsly to level 16 if you’re wanting to evolve it.

Leveling occurs when a Pokemon is used in battle, but you can always use experience candy to level them more quickly. Candy comes in different sizes that each give a different XP boost, which is as follows:

  • XL – 30000
  • L – 10000
  • M – 3000
  • S – 800
  • XS – 100
