Outer Worlds Murder on Eridanos: Can You Accuse Different Suspects? Answered (Spoilers)

The Outer Worlds‘ Murder on Eridanos DLC is a murder mystery through and through, offering you clues to uncover and suspects to interrogate. However, you may find yourself wondering: Can you accuse different suspects in The Outer Worlds’ Murder on Eridanos DLC, and pin the blame on whoever you believe is truly the killer?

We found ourselves asking that same question, and after some experimentation with the game, we have a definitive answer. However, it does spoil some big twists tied to the overarching story, so be warned: Major spoilers ahead.

Can You Accuse Different Culprits in The Outer Worlds’ Murder on Eridanos DLC? Answered

To put it plainly, yes, you can accuse different suspects of Halcyon Helen’s murder in The Outer Worlds’ Murder on Eridanos DLC.

After completing the main story missions tied to investigating one or all of the potential suspects, you’ll be able to finger any one of them as the murderer by reporting to Administrator Ludovico. Each one has potentially incriminating evidence you can use against them, and Ludovico will accept said evidence as proof he can use to bring the case to a swift end.

However, no matter who you accuse of the murder, the outcome will remain the same: Ludovico will suddenly come under attack at Eridanos’ Spectrum Distillery and will request your assistance.

Upon arriving, you’ll then learn that he was the true culprit and that Halcyon Helen’s twin sister has attacked the Distillery in the hopes of bringing Ludovico to justice.

Are There Consequences for Choosing the Wrong Culprit?

It’s also worth noting that there are no real consequences for choosing the right or wrong culprit in The Outer Worlds’ Murder on Eridanos DLC.

No matter who you may have chosen before the story’s big reveal, you’ll still be funneled into the ending the game already has laid out. The suspects won’t think less of you, and you’ll still be able to move around the planet without any serious repercussions.

It’s a bit of a bummer, especially considering how integral your choices are in other parts of the game. On the bright side though, it also means that you can’t accidentally lock yourself out of content due to missing the signs of who the real murderer is.

That’s all there is to know about whether or not you can accuse different suspects in The Outer Worlds’ Murder on Eridanos DLC. For more on the game, check out our guide wiki. It has tips, tricks and info on topics like who you should give the Spectrum Original to and what the max level cap is.
