The Special Shot basically functions as a souped-up version of the Zone Shot in Mario Tennis Aces, letting you slow down time and place your shot wherever you want on the opponent’s court. To use it you’ll first need to have a full energy gauge, which is mostly filled by performing trick shots or having long rallies. Once full, simply press the L button while returning and time will slow down, allowing you to use the left stick, or motion controls if they’re on, to aim the shot.
