Humankind: How to Remove Districts

Developed by Amplitude and published by Sega, Humankind is a new 4X grand strategy game that implements several new systems and mechanics to help evolve the genre. While it shares a lot of similarities with the Civilization games, it also deviates in certain areas. And as your empire expands, you may eventually find yourself in a position where you need to replace some of your districts. Here’s how to remove districts in Humankind.

Removing Districts in Humankind

In Civ, you could simply use Builder units to remove an improvement that was already built on a tile. However, things aren’t quite as simple in Humankind.

The only way to remove a district on a tile is by attacking and plundering it if you’re on foreign territory. On the other hand, if you want to remove a district within your own territory, you can only do so by building a new one over it. While Civ at least lets you gain some Production points by removing an improvement, Humankind is much less lenient.

You won’t get a ton of resources back by building a new district over a tile, so you’ll need to be a lot more careful and conscientious with your decisions.

Simply click on an idle city and choose the district you want to build, then select the tile you want to build it on. If the tile already has a district on it, this will simply replace the old one.

That’s all you need to know about how to remove districts in Humankind. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
