Hey PlatinumGames, Think We Can Get Remasters of These 3 Games Too?

Developer PlatinumGames recently opened up a new teaser site called Four.PlatinumGames where the company is teasing four new upcoming projects. The first of these projects is a Kickstarter campaign for The Wonderful 101: Remastered, which is a port of the Wii U title that’ll be coming to PS4, PC, and Switch after several stretch goals have been met.

Now, the big question that remains is what are the other mysterious projects currently in the works over at PlatinumGames? Well, if they all happen to be ports of older titles, here are three other games that the team should definitely consider remastering as well.

MadWorld

MadWorld was the first game that was developed by PlatinumGames’ and it was published by Sega for the Nintendo Wii back in 2009. It was a hyper-stylized black and white hack and slash beat ’em up that only had one bright color, and that color was red.

MadWorld was extremely gory with each enemy oozing with blood whenever you would kill them, which pretty much happened at any given moment. There were many different ways to approach how you deal with enemies in the arenas and it was super satisfying to pull off.

MadWorld didn’t get much attention when it launched because of its exclusivity on the Wii and the big M for Mature on the front of the box, leaving parents hesitant to pick it up for their children. Also, PlatinumGames was fairly new back then, so the studio didn’t have as an impressive library of games under its belt as it does now.

It performed well from a critical perspective as it was a enjoyable experience and that was very different from what the Wii’s library had to offer but a remastered port on modern consoles with some touched-up controls would be fantastic to see play out.

Since The Wonderful 101 is getting a remastered port, why not MadWorld too? I would start that Kickstarter myself.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was an action-packed Metal Gear Solid spin-off that stars the cybernetic ninja, Raiden, as he protects a prime minister from deadly foes. Instead of focusing on the stealth that the MGS series is known for, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was all about using Raiden’s sword and countering attacks with a really cool slicing mechanic.

You can slice watermelons with ease which is something that you can do in the opening tutorial and it was all such a departure for the series but it still ended up being a very solid action game from Platinum.

The bosses were epic, the soundtrack was a bop, and it gave us a deeper look into one of the coolest side characters from Kojima’s convoluted franchise.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was released in 2013 and since then, it hasn’t really come over to modern consoles, besides popping up on PC a year after it originally launched and being backwards compatible on Xbox One.

A remastered port being announced for at least the PS4 would be welcomed with open arms so that folks like myself can experience this incredible action game once again or for those that never got the chance to play it; maybe the team can even throw in a physical soundtrack with the re-release because it goes hard!

Star Fox Zero

Oh, Star Fox Zero –where do we even begin with this one? As a hardcore fan of Nintendo’s Star Fox series, I was very disappointed with the release of Star Fox Zero back on the Wii U.

Not only did this game try too hard to recreate Star Fox 64, the gyro controls using the Wii U Gamepad was just terrible and did not work that well at all, causing me to stop playing and to drive back to GameStop to return it.

Star Fox Zero should have been great and if the controls were fixed, it would have been a solid Star Fox adventure to remember which is why a proper remaster or just even a basic ol’ port for the Nintendo Switch would be neat.

The only thing that PlatiniumGames’ would have to do is just fix the controls and make them work with a regular controller. We’re not sure how difficult that would be, but if it can be done, let’s do it!

Or, you know what? Just give us a new Star Fox game developed by Ubisoft, because they’ve been handling the IP better than Nintendo these days, I’m just saying.
