How to Change Difficulty in Far Cry New Dawn
Returning to Hope County poses some new challenges to players. Not only do they have to take on the twins in a fight for the wasteland, they’ve also got to navigate new terrain and craft weapons and vehicles from scraps. With this added burden, some may want to know how to change difficulty in Far Cry New Dawn.
What Difference Difficulty Makes
First off, it’s worth noting that you’re not necessarily going to get the adjustment in the gameplay you want from changing difficulty in Far Cry New Dawn.
That’s because according to the in-game menus, changing the difficulty only affects how much damage you take from enemies, rather than granting you more ammo or crafting materials for weapons.
How to Change Difficulty in Far Cry New Dawn
To change difficulty in Far Cry New Dawn, press the Options button on PS4 and Menu button on Xbox One to open the Pause menu. Now select Options and Gameplay, and you’ll see Difficulty right at the top. Use the left analog stick to adjust the difficulty and then press Circle or B to exit.
There are three difficulty levels to choose from in the game are: Explorer (Easy), Tough (Normal), and Hard-Ass is, well… hard. These are the standard difficulty settings in any Far Cry game, and as usual, there’s no additional, harder difficulty setting to unlock upon completing the game once.
Is There a Difficulty Trophy / Achievement?
Ubisoft has opted not to include a trophy or achievement for beating the game on a particular difficulty setting. You can view the full list of Far Cry New Dawn trophies and achievements here (warning, the secret trophies/achievements are spoilers).
