Fallout 4 Wasteland Workshop: How to Tame a Deathclaw and Other Creatures

Fallout 4’s Wasteland Workshop DLC gives players the ability to capture all kinds of creatures that wander the Boston wasteland. However, they’re not going to take too kindly to being trapped in a cage. Here’s how to tame a Deathclaw and other creatures to ensure they don’t wreak havoc in your settlement.

So, you’ve got your desired creature captured in a cage and you’re ready to have them as an extra means of defense for your settlement. Before you open up the door and let them reign free around your settlement, however, you’re going to need to build a Beta Wave Emitter.

When activated, this tower will keep any creatures you have captured calm and will prevent them from attacking you or any of your settlers. It does require some of the more difficult materials to find around the wasteland, however, so ensure you keep stocking up while you’re out questing.

Of course, there’s nothing to stop you from letting a creature reign free in your settlement without the Beta Wave Emitter. Just don’t expect any of your settlers to survive and be prepared to take it down yourself.

The Beta Wave Emitter does require you to have both the Animal Friend and Wasteland Whisperer perks unlocked. These are available when you have five and nine points in your Charisma tree respectively.

That’s all there is to keeping creatures peaceful in your settlements. Just don’t forget to turn it on, otherwise your Fallout 4 settlement may not be in the best state by the end.
