Unlocked after you begin building a river on the Isle of Awakening, Explorers Shores are smaller islands located on the fringes of the four main islands where the game’s story plays out.
These islands are unlocked using Gratitude points, which can be amassed through a variety of tasks including crafting new structures and revitalizing the Isle of Awakening.
Their terrain is randomly generated each time you come and go to them. However, the enemy types and fauna found on them tend to stay the same no matter how many times you leave and return.
While they may be a bit simpler in their design as a result, this also means that they can serve as reliable ways to farm certain materials.
This isn’t the main draw of Explorers Shores though. That right goes to their Scavenger Hunts, which offer you a permanent boon if you’re able to complete them.
What Scavenger Hunts Do
As their name entails, the scavenger hunts of the Explorers Shores require you to explore the island for specific materials. These can range from certain crops and plants to animals like chickens, dogs and so forth.
There are two scavenger hunts tied to each island at any given time. Completing either one will grant you an infinite supply of a certain material while completing both will grant you an infinite supply of two different materials.
It should be noted, however, that if you leave an island before completing a scavenger hunt, the list of items you’ve found will be reset along with the island’s terrain.
