It’s a good week to be a Destiny 2 fan, as the Black Armory mini-expansion has finally dropped. Instead of including a new story campaign, however, this expansion is mostly focused on new activities that Guardians can play around with to hit the new Power level cap. The Volundr Forge is a new area in the EDZ which will allow you to battle waves of enemies and get new gear. Here’s where the Volundr Forge location is in Destiny 2.

First things first, you’ll need to have cleared the initial Black Armory quest steps in Destiny 2 before you can access this location. You’ll want to get the first quest step from Spider at the Tangled Shore. Next, head back to the new location at the Tower, and you’ll be tasked with fixing the Machine Gun Frame.

This requires you to obtain a Weapon Core, Compound Ether, and achieve Hive multi-kills with the next step. After you’ve accomplished all of that, you’ll finally be able to access the Volundr Forge.

Volundr Forge Location

Thankfully, getting to the Volundr Forge isn’t terribly difficult in Destiny 2. From your Director, you’ll see that the Forge is located in the EDZ. Select the EDZ, and go to the Sunken Isles spawn point.

The Volundr Forge is directly southeast of the Sunken Isles spawn point, where you’ll find a cave called Smidur’s Cavern. From here, all you have to do is follow your quest marker and you’ll be taken directly to the Forge.

Do be warned, however, that the recommended Power level for the Forge is 610. This means that if you haven’t been keeping up with your weekly and daily bounties in Destiny 2, it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll be able to check out the new activities here.

Bungie has since increased the drop rates for Prime Engrams, which should make it slightly easier to reach the recommended Power level quicker.
