Battletoads may be a challenging game, but that doesn’t mean you have to play it on your own. There are multiple Battletoads, and up to two other players can fight alongside you in local co-op multiplayer. In this guide, we’ll talk you through how to play co-op multiplayer in Battletoads so you can play along and get some help from your friends.
As we mentioned above, Battletoads does not have online co-op multiplayer, and can only be played in local multiplayer. That means you and your friends will have to be in the same room, playing on the same PC or Xbox One console in order to player co-op.
Battletoads co-op is only available for three players (you and two friends), so keep this in mind, as many will likely assume its four-player co-op.
Playing Battletoads Co-Op Multiplayer
To play co-op multiplayer in Battletoads, simply press the Menu button on your Xbox controller that isn’t yet assigned to a character in the game. After pressing the Menu button, you’ll then be asked to choose your character. Do this and press A and you’ll be ready to go. Wait for all players to pick their character and then begin the game.
Battletoads’ co-op allows players to drop in and out at any time. If a friend joins you in co-op while you’re playing a level, all they need to do is press the Menu button again and they’ll automatically be assigned a free character and will be thrown straight into the action. No need to wait until the next level.
Is Online Co-Op Coming Soon?
At the moment, nothing has been announced to suggest the game will ever get online co-op multiplayer. Instead, this is one you’ll have to enjoy with your friends and/or family members on the couch next to you.
That’s everything you need to know to play Battletoads co-op multiplayer. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out more of our coverage below, or search for Twinfinite.
