Apex Legends: How to No-Fill Matchmake (Play Solo)

Some fans may be happy to know that Respawn has added a solo play option to Apex Legends with the Chaos Theory Collection Event update. It isn’t exactly the traditional solo mode that players were expecting, though. Here’s how to play solo using no-fill matchmaking in Apex Legends.

How to Play Solo in Apex Legends

This new option to play the game solo isn’t at all like how previous solo modes were implemented in the past. This time, solo players will be in matches that contain either duo or trio teams. There isn’t a dedicated solo mode.

Instead, solo play can be accessed by toggling the new Fill Teammates option above the Ready prompt in the lobby. Fill matchmaking will add random teammates to your team, just like any normal match.

No-fill matchmaking, on the other hand, will send you into a duos or trios match alone. Unchecking the box will enable this option whenever you solo queue in Apex Legends.

However, Respawn has mentioned that the intention here isn’t to disrupt the regular flow of normal matches. So the solution to that potential issue is to only allow up to six solo players in any given match.

No-fill matchmaking cannot be done in ranked matches either. It’s really more of a fun option for those who prefer to play alone, or test out guns, Legends, or tactics in a live situation without putting their whole team at risk.

That’s everything you need to know about how to play solo using no-fill matchmaking in Apex Legends. Since the solo play is done in team modes, getting a win will be a real challenge for those who choose to attempt it.
